Satchmo (‘pops’) - a new thing for me to work with ink & a brush for a large portion of the drawing like this. I think it would have been more successful if It had not had as much detail/wrinkles in the face.

And finally, a sketch for the Face Off contest at the NCN. The assignment: Find someone who’s been dead at least 30 years, and depict their AWFUL SECRET (it can be fictional.) I chose Mark Twain. This is a sketch of him (the religious skeptic that he was) singing in a church choir with the dove, a hymnal, and a halo. Can't forget the stogie! :)
